This Made Me Smile::Monday:: In Which I Share a Wedding Preview and Words

Monday, May 20, 2013

Weddings weddings weddings.
They are all over.
On Saturdays.
On Thursdays.
On Sundays.
Exciting stuff.
This past week and weekend have been some of the craziest of the year so far.
And I have learned a couple of things
You want to know what they are?
 No?
Meh, I am going to tell you anyway.
1. Always have a back-up plan.
My sister-in-law said this very thing to me last Sunday, little did I know how right she was.
2. Take a deep breath and ask God for peace before you panic.
It will greatly reduce the problem.
(also see #1)
3. Good friends are wonderful and irreplaceable.
Need I say more?
4. Hot sand hurts bare feet.
But you can always dig a hole!
5. The feeling of Summer in The Midwest = humidity
I am moving to a state where there is no humidity at all.
So there.

The end.
Happy Monday.

P.S. I may not be posing here for a while* due to a crazy schedule.

*I will be back next Monday for sure!

This Made Me Smile::Monday::To The Woman Who Raised Me

Monday, May 13, 2013

Photo credit for #s 2&3 to Magnifica Photography
To the woman who raised me.
To the woman who gave me (and still gives) my education.
To the woman who has nursed me back to health many-a-time.
To the woman who raised and homeschooled 5 children (ant that was not an easy task).
To the woman who has been all around the world.
To the woman who is a nurse.
To the woman who taught us how to give sacrificial love for those who could not give back.
To the woman who is "The Weather Woman"
To the woman who spent countless hours brushing rats out of my 7-year-old head of hair.
To the woman who makes coming home from collage cafeteria food feel like heaven.
To the woman who loves her doggies.
To the woman who raised us to eat our salad first.
To the woman who tends her garden.
To the woman who loves Jesus her Savior more than anything else.
To the woman I call Mom.
I love you.

Your little girl,
Mackenzie Hope

These Are The Things I Want To Remember Forever

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

We have good days.
And we have bad days.
We have funny days.
And we have sad days.
(that was not meant to rhyme....it is just what came out)
I always want to remember every day with her.
Because she is my Grandma (see post from last summer all about her), and I love her.
I want to remember everything about her.
But most of all I want to remember:
1. Her little laugh.
2. The way she walks (or shuffles).
3. How, when she sings, she acts like she is conducting an army of musicians.
4. Her wedding ring that can't come off her hand because it has been there for 60-some years.
5. The way she calls me "Doll-baby" and "Honey-pot".
6. The funny words she invents.
7. How she blows kisses across the room.
8. How she consistently feeds the dogs every meal no matter how many times she is told not to.
9. Her little pink slippers.
10. How , when I tell her to smile, she says "Hello camera, Grandma proud of you!" and waves.

Yours truly,
Mackenzie Hope

So Very Sweet

Monday, May 6, 2013

It is Monday once again! How time flies!
You met my sister Meredith and her man (aka boyfriend *gasp!*) Dave briefly in this post, the one picture I got of the two of them together is pretty silly, but that was their fault.
They wouldn't smile.
Or pose.
Or even stand anywhere near each other just so I couldn't get a picture of them.
Well, they regretted that.
So this past Sunday (that would be yesterday wouldn't it?), while they were siting on the front porch chatting and laughing (like any typical couple), I laid down the law.
"No guys" I said, "You are always telling me that you want a good picture of the two of you, and I really do try. So, if you will at least smile a bit I will try to get one or two."
They agreed.
Because (of course ) I was right.
So I took pictures.
While they talked.
And laughed.
And made silly faces.
And out of all those silly faces and squinty eyes I may have gotten a few gems.
They are pretty cute no?
Yes.

I hope you are having a simply splendid Monday friends ,family and fellow bloggers (and any other
miscellaneous person who may be reading this)!!

The end.

P.S Check back tomorrow for a blog post that will have pictures in it that are dear to my heart. *sniff*
