In Which It Snows Again and We Do A Photoshoot

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

This afternoon it snowed.
Again.
We took advantage of this by running outside to take a few shots of my lovely older sister Meredith. And I mean running.
Sprinting.
Galloping.
Jogging.
We were in a bit of a hurry, we didn't want to miss a thing.
You understand don't you?
Thanks.
It was a ton of snow, in fact (as I observed to my sister), it looked like cotton.
My sister will be doing a guest blog post -with pictures that I took- on my blog soon.
We have plans; and it is going to be great.
And tasty.
I hope.

I hope you are having a perfectly splendid day!

P.S. Yes her hair is natural. Isn't it amazing?

We done got a blizzard…I think

Wednesday, March 6, 2013

(WARNING: This may be a pretty boring post.....sorry)
Yesterday it started to snow.
And snow.
And snow.
It just kept coming down.
And down.
And down.
I don't know how I feel about this snow....I mean, after all it is MARCH!
March peoples.
Not December.
My state is a stickler for fooling us with the weather. Last March at this time the crocuses were growing!
*sniff*
Anyway, we got a bit of a blizzard.
At least that is what everyone was calling it.
I don't know if it was a real blizzard though.....I mean, have you ever read The Long Winter?
After reading that book I will never look at our puny little snow storms and call them blizzards.
Never again.
I can't wait until Spring.
But until then....here are some pictures of our Little Snow Storm.

So there you have it.  The end.

Waiting on the edge of my seat for Spring,
Mackenzie

Just Another Day.....

Thursday, February 28, 2013

Well, it is the last day of February. I can't believe it. It seems like it has just flown by.
Well, maybe that is because it happens to be the shortest month of the year.
Right?
I am greatly looking forward to March.
Greatly.
Muchly.
Lots and lots.
I can't wait until Spring makes its grand entrance once again.
I can't wait for the warm air.
The flowers.
The sunlight.
The smell of mud.
The feeling of grass between my toes.
Ho-boy!
It's going to be grand.
And don't worry I will document every moment of it.
If I can.
Spring inspires me.
But, so does the bleakness of February.
Shall I explain myself?
February is known to be bleak. Dark. Cold. Dreary. So I-attempting to be an optimist-try to be inspired by it.
So it is bleak outside-well I like it!
So it is cold outside- better for drinking tea.
So it is dreary outside-makes for soft light.
So there.
In short, what I am saying is that I am trying to be inspired by the un-inspiring. I don't know how that works, but it does.
And I feel inspired.
I am going to stop rambling now.
The end.
Inspired by the un-inspiring-and looking for inspiration,
Mackenzie Hope

This Made Me Smile::Monday:: Snow,Skiing, and Football

Monday, February 4, 2013

This lovely group of people.
They make me smile.
We took this picture a few minutes before we embarked on a Skiing Adventure yesterday. It is a tradition for my family to drive a couple of hours every year on Superbowl Sunday (we are not football fans and have no desire whatsoever to watch a bunch of millionaires with shoulder-pads on push each other around).
It is the event of the year.
Well, minus the annual-traditional canoe trip.
And.....maybe the annual-traditional caroling party.
Yeah.
So, we went on a ski trip yesterday.
It was a blast.
We only had a few injuries.....just a couple of broken bones, teeth, noses and heads.
Just kidding.
I don't think anyone broke anything (Sarah?), but we may have gotten a bit close a couple of times. Especially on those black-diamond hills.
Now that was fun.
I didn't actually get any pictures of skiing.....I am not yet a good enough skier to ski down a hill with my camera. Nor am I a dedicated enough photographer to stop skiing to get my camera all the way out of the car to take pictures.

One more thing......so, do you notice how in this picture a couple of people have snow on their clothing?
That is because of this:

And this:

Very-sore-from-skiing-for-many-hours-yesterday,
Mackenzie

P.S I really would be posting more pictures if I could, but at this point I have had two technology break-downs. As in I lost a memory-card full of pictures *ugg*, I won't even tell you how I feel about this. And our main computer won't start up, but it is getting fixed and should be up and running by Friday.
The end.

Friends In The Snow

Saturday, December 29, 2012

Yesterday I was blessed to spend time with my dear friend Anneliese.
I did a blog post back in November about her.
We were able to step outside in the snow to take some pictures.
I love snow.
I love taking pictures.
I love my friends who put up with my photo inspirations.
They stand out in the cold snow and look lovely.
It's just wonderful.
Anyway, I will start with the pictures.
"Fake smiles!"

The end!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Yours truly,
Mackenzie Hope
