My Favorite Quotes/Verses

Friday, June 1, 2012

For my birthday this year my older brother gave me a small leather notebook.I love notebooks, love them. I always like to have a spare notebook on hand, just in case I need to write something down, or doodle something. Notebooks are always useful, and you can always find a use for them.(If you haven't noticed yet, I like to repeat my self)

Anyway, I was thrilled when I received this notebook and immediately started thinking of what I could use it for.I already had a journal, and didn't need a second one (I don't fill up the first one well enough anyway).

I also already had a photography note book, in which I recorded everything I need to remember, everything I had learned, and random miscellaneous notes.

I already had one or two "note taking" notebooks. These ones were for taking sermon, Bible, and bible study notes. I had plenty of those.

So I decided to do something creative with this notebook.I decided to fill it with quotes and verses. Oh boy was I excited! I started off on the adventure of filling this little notebook with good quotes. The very first quote I wrote down was, "Fear makes life small", a quote I had seen on a friend's refrigerator. Cliché I know, but it was a good start. Now every time I hear, see, and find a good quote or Bible verse I write it in my little notebook. Which makes me very happy. So friends, here are just a few of the "nuggets of gold" I have found (numbered by where they are in my notebook).

2. "A pleasure is full grown only when it is remembered" ~C.S. Lewis (just warning you, I love C.S.Lewis)

3."If tempted to do anything in secret, ask yourself if you would do it in public. If not, be sure it is wrong." ~Thomas Jefferson

8."The real black, diabolical pride comes when you look down on others so much that you do not care what they think of you." ~C.S. Lewis

9. "But as for me my prayer is to you O LORD. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness." ~Psalm 69:13

17. "Whatever you do He will make good of it. But not the good He has prepared for you if you had obeyed Him." ~C.S. Lewis

22. The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug." ~Mark Twain

23. Creation has formed us, education has informed us, sin deforms us, prisons try to reform us, but God transforms us." ~Unknown

24. "And Moses said to the people, 'Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will work for you today'...'The LORD will fight for you and you have only to be silent.'"
~Exodus 14:13, 14

33. “I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

~J.R.R Tolkien

I could put so many more down, but that might not be good, it would take a long time to read, and this post is long enough as it is.
So goodbye for now, I will be back someday!
Have a lovely weekend!
